Do I need to provide proof of purchase?

Answer:

Yes, in most cases. In order to file a claim for any item not purchased on eBay, we require a copy of your item’s purchase receipt (showing the purchase date and price) be on file with us.

You can fax or email a copy of your receipt to us at any time.

To email a copy of your receipt:

  • Step 1: Select the “My Warranties” tab, and then the “Manage My Warranties” link.
  • Step 2: Select the corresponding warranty.
  • Step 3: On the right hand under the heading “Quick Links”, select the “Manage My Receipts” link.
  • Step 4: Address the email to receipts@squaretrade.com. You can forward an order confirmation email, or scan and attach a paper receipt.
  • Step 5: Make sure to include the warranty ID provided into the subject line by itself (make sure to remove any other text from the subject). Any attachments must be less than 5MB.
