What types of items are eligible for coverage?

Broadly speaking, SquareTrade offers coverage for consumer electronics items and home appliances for indoor use.  We can also cover brand-new jewelry and watches.  Some examples of eligible items include:

• Televisions and video equipment (LCD, LED, and plasma TV's, BluRay players, DVRs)
  
• MP3 players and audio equipment (iPods, home theater systems, headphones)
  
• GPS navigation and car audio items (satellite radio receivers, car speakers)
  
• Cameras and camcorders, (digital and film cameras, Flip cameras, camera lenses)
  
• Computers and peripherals (laptop and desktop computers, printers, monitors)
  
• E-readers and tablets (Amazon Kindle, Nook, iPad, Motorola Xoom)
  
• Cell phones
  
• Video game consoles, including handheld units like the Sony PSP or Nintendo 3DS
  
• Home appliances (ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers, dryers, mixers, vacuums)
  

However, in order to keep our prices reasonable, and to offer fast and efficient service, we cannot cover every type of item.  Some of the items that are not eligible for coverage include, but are not limited to:

• Items with no electronic or electrical components
• Lawn and garden equipment, or power tools
• Other outdoor appliances (like barbecue grills, pressure washers)
  
• Plumbing-related appliances (like water heaters, softeners, or filters)
  
• Automobiles of any type
  
• Industrial equipment
  

If you believe an item you purchased may be eligible for coverage, but it is not listed above, please give us a call to discuss your item and its intended use.  We will be happy to see if we can offer a warranty on that item.
